PROMPTHERE GUIDE
한국어로 읽기Claude prompts for document reviews you can trace to the source
A fluent summary is not the same as a traceable review. When asking Claude to examine documents, define the material, the comparison criteria and the questions that should remain unresolved when evidence is missing.

Label the documents and the scope
Give each proposal, meeting note or requirements document a name. Explain the relationship you want checked, such as comparing proposal A's delivery plan with requirements B. If you provide only an excerpt, ask for conclusions limited to that excerpt rather than a claim about the entire document.
Separate facts, interpretation and suggestions
A review is harder to audit when source facts and model interpretations share the same sentence. Request separate columns for a requirement, evidence location, unresolved issue and follow-up question. Items without supporting material should be explicitly marked as not established by the documents.
Keep reusable instructions apart from this assignment
Tone and recurring review criteria can form a reusable instruction set. The documents and deadlines belong to the individual request. Check that unrelated project details have not carried over. Confirm file support and other tool-specific limits in the environment you actually use before planning a workflow around them.
An example to make your own
A proposal review table with traceable evidence
Replace the bracketed fields, then paste into your AI tool.
Compare proposal A with requirements B. A: [proposal] B: [requirements] Return: requirement | supporting evidence and source location | unresolved issue | follow-up question. Use only the supplied material. Do not invent commitments, figures or features. End with three improvement suggestions, clearly separated from documented facts.
Before you run the prompt
- Name each source and explain the comparison.
- Request separate facts and interpretations.
- Limit conclusions to the material actually provided.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a particular tag format?
No particular notation is required by this template. The aim is to make instructions and source boundaries easy to recognize. Use consistent headings or separators.
Can I trust every source location in an AI response?
References can still be wrong. Check important conclusions against the original passage and treat evidence you cannot find as unverified.
