PROMPTHERE GUIDE
한국어로 읽기AI skills and prompts: package the rules behind recurring work
When the same instructions recur across tasks, you can manage them as a reusable workflow. In this guide, an AI skill means a package of task guidance: when to use it, the steps to follow and the reference material it needs. The tool-specific format is a separate consideration.

Define when the instructions apply
‘Write documents well’ is broad. ‘Prepare an internal weekly update for a team lead’ gives the workflow a clear use. Record when it should not apply as well, so a rule for internal reporting is not accidentally used for customer correspondence. A one-off request can still begin as a simple prompt.
Separate the process from reference material
Keep required inputs, work steps, output structure and review criteria in the core instructions. Store long examples or forms as references and explain when to consult them. Do not bake this week's dates or a specific client's details into rules intended for future assignments.
Review the contents and execution scope
AI tools can differ in how they load skills and which formats they support. Do not assume that a familiar file name guarantees compatible behavior. If a package includes scripts or external tools, understand what data they read and what changes they perform before adapting the workflow to your environment.
An example to make your own
A consistent review standard for weekly updates
Replace the bracketed fields, then paste into your AI tool.
Workflow: internal weekly update Use when: turning a week's work notes into a report for a team lead Inputs: this week's notes, objectives and confirmed figures Process: separate completed work, progress and blockers; put decisions needed first. Output: summary / status against objectives / blockers / next actions Review: do not invent figures, owners or deadlines; mark unresolved items. Do not apply unchanged to customer-facing correspondence. Material for this run: [work notes]
Before you run the prompt
- Give the skill a specific use condition.
- Keep changing client details and dates out of fixed rules.
- Review the role and scope of references and scripts.
Frequently asked questions
Should every prompt become a skill?
No. Packaging instructions is most useful when the process and review criteria recur. A short, contextual request can be enough for a one-time task.
Will saving this example make it run as a skill everywhere?
No. The example describes reusable instruction content. Check your tool's supported format and registration process; this guide does not imply automatic installation or recognition.
